The Australian kelpie has a will to please which makes them relatively easy to train. They have an enormous work ethic. It is therefore important to give them something to do. You can train them in dog sports such as rescue, agility, hoopers, obedience, flyball and so on, but also as a pet you can teach them all kinds of tricks.
A consistent education and quality time makes the Australian kelpie a great buddy. However, if you can’t give them the attention they deserve then you risk them getting bored and you are likely to get into mischief.
